New board and advisory board members at InsurTech Hub Munich

Kathrin Schwidder (Generali) and Dr. Klaus Driever (Allianz) will become new members of the Board of Management of InsurTech Hub Munich (ITHM). Johannes Wagner (Versicherungskammer Bayern), Falk Löffler (Nürnberger Versicherung), and Tom Van den Brulle (Munich Re) were re-elected by the regular members in the regular election and will manage the Munich hub for another two years as ITHM Board members. New members of the ITHM Advisory Board were Dr. Carsten Reimund (Allianz) and Benedikt Kalteier (Generali). 

Tom Van den Brulle, Global Head of Innovation at Munich Re, will continue to serve as spokesperson for the ITHM Board of Management. In this role, he will also bid farewell to Jörg Richtsfeld, Investment Director of Allianz X, who has left the ITHM Board of Management. "On behalf of my fellow Board members and the entire ITHM community, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Jörg Richtsfeld. Jörg has contributed with great commitment to making ITHM a leading international digitalization hub. With Kathrin and Klaus, I am now pleased to welcome two new colleagues to the ITHM Board of Management. I am very much looking forward to this collaboration and am confident that together we will continue to develop and expand ITHM."

Kathrin Schwidder began her career in 2011 as Head of Risk Management Framework & Validation. Since 2021, she has served as Head of Strategy and Lifetime Partner Transformation at Generali Deutschland AG. She will serve as Secretary on the ITHM Board. 

Dr. Klaus Driever, Allianz Deutschland AG, was elected as a new member and second deputy chairman of the ITHM Board of Directors. He joined Allianz Deutschland AG in 2013 as head of direct business. Previously, Klaus Driever was Managing Director of the Weltbild Publishing Group, responsible for digital business in German-speaking countries, the Netherlands, and Eastern Europe.

Johannes Wagner, first deputy chairman and head of startup cooperation at Versicherungskammer Bayern, and Falk Löffler, ITHM treasurer and program manager for projects/special tasks in the KBM and Operations department at Nürnberger Versicherung, were re-elected as ITHM board members. 

The members of ITHM now include more than 20 renowned national and international insurance companies such as the Münchner Verein, the Bayerische, LV 1871, Allianz, Generali, Versicherungskammer Bayern, WWK, Huk-Coburg, Migdal Insurance, Dai-Ichi-Life as well as strategic partners such as SAP, NTT Data and Microsoft.

Dr. Carsten Reimund and Benedikt Kalteier new ITHM Advisory Board members 

Dr. Carsten Reimund began his career in banking and joined Allianz in 2003. Since 2019, he has headed the Chief Business Transformation Office of the Allianz Group, and since January 2021, he has also been responsible for the Allianz business unit that includes the Group's insurance business on the Iberian Peninsula and in Latin America, the global B2B2C business of Allianz Partners, and Allianz X, the Group's digital investment unit.

Benedikt Kalteier, who had been a member of the ITHM Board of Directors since December 2019, was appointed to the ITHM Advisory Board by Generali. This move coincides with Kalteier's new position as CEO of Cosmos Direkt and member of the Board of Directors of Generali Deutschland, which he has held since the beginning of this year. Each ITHM member has the opportunity to appoint a company representative to the Advisory Board of the InsurTech Hub Munich. This is subject to a corresponding position in the top management of the respective insurance company.

Dr. Robert Heene, Chairman of the ITHM Advisory Board and Board Member of the Bavarian Insurance Chamber, commented on the new additions: "With Carsten Reimund and Benedikt Kalteier, we are gaining two new Advisory Board members who, on the one hand, have many years of insurance expertise and, on the other, are driving innovation and digitalization forward across industries. I am very much looking forward to this collaboration."
