Past innovation programs
The insurance market is constantly changing - new technologies, changing customer expectations and disruptive business models are shaping the industry. This is precisely where our innovation programs have always come in: Together with leading insurers, start-ups and technology experts, we develop pioneering solutions for the future.

NXT:Customer: Improving the customer experience
Innovation program 2022: How can insurers win over new generations of customers and what role do highly personalized products and services play in this? Do they want frequent touchpoints or do they prefer seamless, unobtrusive insurance solutions in the background? How important are global challenges such as sustainability for them, and to what extent do these aspects need to be taken into account in (insurance) products?
In a market with growing margin pressure and innovative new entrants capturing market share, a deep understanding of the NXT:Customer is crucial for the sustainable business success of insurers. To become the trusted partner of this new customer group, insurers need to understand real customer needs, embrace radical customer centricity and transform products, processes and their organization to meet increasing demands.
The three-month innovation program NXT:Customer in 2022 was a milestone in this transformation, in which innovative start-ups designed the next generation of customer-oriented insurance products and processes. The findings still form the basis for future innovations and underline Insurers must evolve from pure cost reimbursers to genuine life companions for their customers.

FIN:SURE: Promoting financial stability
Innovation program 2022: The increasing volatility of the global markets brings with it an increased need for long-term financial stability. At the same time, consumer awareness of secure and transparent financial products is growing, creating new impetus for traditional solutions such as life insurance and innovative financial products. New market players are offering simple, convenient financial solutions, further intensifying competition in the sector.
What role do insurance companies play in offering consumers solutions for a secure financial future? In addition to tried-and-tested products such as life insurance, new concepts are coming into focus, including the idea of a "financial home" platform that could position insurers as a central point of contact for personal financial security.
To explore these opportunities, we gathered our ecosystem of insurers, technology companies, financial players and innovative start-ups in the FIN:SURE Sprint in 2022. Together, we developed the first solutions, which at the time represented an important step towards a new role for insurers in the financial sector.
Since then, the industry has evolved - with new technological possibilities, changing consumer needs and an even stronger focus on integrated financial and insurance offerings. But the basic idea remains the same: Insurers can offer more than traditional protection - they have the potential to play a central role in their customers' financial future.

H+Digital Health: Digitizing healthcare solutions
Innovation program 2022: Telemedicine and digital healthcare solutions have experienced unprecedented growth, not least due to the coronavirus pandemic. The increasing acceptance among patients and doctors as well as the emerging regulatory framework show that this development will continue in the long term.
In this environment, insurers have evolved from pure cost reimbursers to genuine health companions - and digital health solutions play a key role in this. The InsurTech Hub Munich supported this transformation with the second edition of the H+ Digital Health Innovation Program in 2022.
In this three-month program, the InsurTech Hub brought together its ecosystem of leading insurers, technology companies, cross-industry players and selected international digital health start-ups.

The program focused in particular on the "patient journey " - with a special focus on disease prevention and care, patient engagement and related insurance processes that turn insurers from mere reimbursers into true healthcare partners.
The program was based on the strategic priorities of the ITHM community and placed particular emphasis on five key health areas.
