InsurTech Hub discusses artificial intelligence at the Digital Summit 2018

At this year's Digital Summit in Nuremberg, over 1100 representatives from various sectors of the economy discussed the digitalization of Germany and Europe in workshops and panel discussions. In particular, the summit focused on the planned support in the development of artificial intelligence in order to develop Germany and Europe into a leading AI location and thus contribute to Germany's future competitiveness.

While artificial intelligence is repeatedly described as a "revolutionary technology", companies are still holding back and appear to be very hesitant to use it. According to a study by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), just one in five companies in Germany is using a specific AI application, while almost 30% are only just developing one. By 2025, a total of three billion euros is to be invested in artificial intelligence and 100 new professorships are to be created for this purpose.

Economics Minister Peter Altmaier described artificial intelligence as the "greatest innovation since the invention of the steam engine", but one that should not be feared.
We think that's great and look forward to working on AI solutions for the insurance industry together with our alumni and start-ups that are in the starting blocks.
