InsurTech Hub Munich e.V. (ITHM), a leading global collaboration platform for the insurance industry, has accepted Dr. Robert Heene (Versicherungskammer Group) and Tom Van den Brulle (Munich Re) as associate members of the association. The extraordinary membership is a recognition of their long-standing voluntary commitment to the digital transformation of the insurance industry and the promotion of cooperation between insurance companies and start-ups.

Dr. Robert Heene (Member of the Board of Versicherungskammer Bayern) established the ITHM Advisory Board and has chaired it since the ITHM was founded. Under his aegis, the Advisory Board has developed into a body that plays a key role in guiding the direction of the ITHM and continuously advises the Executive Board. Tom Van den Brulle (Global Head of Innovation at Munich Re) has also served as Chairman of the Board since the ITHM was founded. Thanks to his international network and in-depth insurance expertise, he has made a significant contribution to the expansion and internationalization of ITHM. At the end of 2023, the hub reached another important milestone with renewed financial support from the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Dr. Robert Heene and Tom Van den Brulle stepped down from their respective honorary positions on the ITHM in December 2023 and did not stand for re-election. Since then, Dr. Markus Juppe (member of the Management Board of Bavaria Direkt, Versicherungskammer Group) has been Chairman of the ITHM Advisory Board. Dr. Klaus Driever, who is responsible for strategic digital initiatives in the customer and market area at Allianz, was elected Chairman of the Board.
