Munich, April 15, 2019

Ben Shaw is joining the BMWi-funded InsurTech Hub Munich (ITHM) as Director of Programs and Strategy with immediate effect. The business IT specialist joins from Barclays in New York, where he was most recently head of the multi-award-winning Barclays Accelerator, powered by Techstars. In his new role at ITHM, he will be responsible for the operational and content-related program design of the early-stage W1Forward InsurTech Accelerator.

Ben Shaw, Director Programs and Strategy at ITHM:
"The InsurTech Hub Munich has a reach like no other innovation platform in Europe thanks to the membership of regional and international insurance companies as well as partners such as Roche and PwC. At the same time, we are experiencing a wave of start-ups in the international InsurTech scene that are redefining the broad spectrum of topics along the value chain from sales to claims settlement. I look forward to leveraging this potential together with the start-ups and our members and to shaping the German and European future of the insurance industry."

Manuel Holzhauer, Managing Director at ITHM: "Ben ideally complements our team with new and important innovation experience from a neighboring industry. His background in the London and New York startup ecosystems will help us to further professionalize the Munich ecosystem and make it even more attractive for everyone involved. "
