InsurTech Hub Munich wins Bayerische Versorgungskammer as a partner
Bayerische Versorgungskammer (BVK – Bavarian chamber for social benefits and pensions) joins InsurTech Hub Munich (ITHM) as a partner. Being a modern organization and at the same time the largest public-sector group in Germany, BVK jointly manages the business of twelve professional and municipal pension funds that provide benefits for old age, disability and survivors’ pension to its members and the insured.
The BVK has its own Innovation Lab since January 2020: Here, innovative ideas within the scope of digitization are identified, developed and specifically tested for their use within the BVK. These include topics such as intelligent data analysis, conversational artificial intelligence or intelligent process automation.
“The cooperation with the InsurTech Hub gives us the opportunity to exchange ideas with innovative startups and the innovation departments of other member companies,” says Daniel Just, CEO of Bayerische Versorgungskammer. “We benefit from this in a variety of ways: we get access to new technologies and ideas to optimize internal processes and customer interfaces. We are also looking forward to a lively exchange outside the box of our own company. “
Johannes Wagner, Head of Startup Cooperation at Versicherungskammer Bayern (VKB) and member of the ITHM board, adds: “We are very pleased that BVK, with was united with Versicherungskammer Bayern under one roof until 1995, has joined the InsurTech Hub. BVK will bring in its experience in the field of pension funds and conversely be able to profit from the innovation sharing practice in our network.”
