W1 Forward InsurTech Accelerator kicks off welcoming ten startups and two Entrepreneurs in Residence.

The InsurTech Hub Munich (ITHM) launches the fourth batch of the W1 Forward InsurTech Accelerator today. All ten teams joining the program are being welcomed to WERK1 – the startup hotbed close to Munich’s Ostbahnhof.
Over the next 8 weeks the teams will be introduced to over 50 mentors and coaches in various fields and integrated into the Munich Startup Ecosystem. They will have the unique opportunity to explore collaborations with ITHM’s insurance members and strategic partners over the course of the program.
ITHM also welcomes two Entrepreneurs-In-Residence who will be sharing their experiences having founded companies in the past and act as a trusted third party to the founders.
Marco Affonseca joins the program from New York, where he founded multiple business with his latest endeavor being Bild. An investing platform that connects investors to sustainable infrastructure and clean energy projects.
Yann Girard has worked on both sides of the table in the startup ecosystems in the US and Germany. He has also been a mentor and adviser to accelerators, incubators and startups all over Europe. Having spent the past few years in South East Asia, he’s now back in Germany to support the local ecosystem.
